Today's poll:

Which cat, would you suspect, might have been the one ordering all the shots?

House Rules:

Playdates are a fact of life now-a-days. Instead of sending your children out into the neigborhood to play (like we did when we were kids) we now have "play-dates". The mom's get together, have tea and talk about whatever and the kids hang out and play with the bazillion toys, dolls, games etc. that they have.

The good thing is I don't have to worry about who my kid is associating with and what kind of influences she is being subjected to.

The rules are posted at the house and they are universal.

Jake '99 Trinket:

As previously reported here at jakersdelight there have been a number of giveaways on Jake Day. From Heff's ahem... Balls, Doc's Tee's, Chiefy's Old Guy Shirt all the way up to Stalkfleet's "Not an Open" Beer Glass - all the trinkets have just been fan-frickin'-tastic.

Here is another that stands out in our memories from Jake 8 (1999). I believe Rosco got these Jake Boxer Briefs for everyone, which we 'sported' while posing for a picture that year.

Truth be told - they aren't all that comfy. Kind of ride up on you at times if you get what I'm saying.

The year was 1986. It was spring in our senior year and our high school's "senior service" program had just started. Senior Service was a program by which high school seniors go out into the community and help others in need. Some guys were sent to convalescent homes and hospitals to help care for sick and elderly folks which I heard was very rewarding.

As it happened Me, Rosco & Stubby all got assigned to a middle school not far away where we proceeded to play street hockey, football, flirt with the teachers and 8th graders and generally make a mockery of the entire program. Our high school let us carry over our 3rd quarter grades into the 4th quarter without doing a stitch of school work.

(I’ll pause just to let that sink in…)

We'd go out for lunch with the windows down and the music on good & loud.
This tape had just been released and we wore it out that spring. To this day I can't listen to any song from this album without thinking of that moment in time. Oh yes…
