Stalkfleet reaches out to the masses:

Lt. Stalkfleet has begun the process of planning JAKE 15. He is currently hashing out the date based on each members individual climate requirements, needs, schedules and fiscal calendars. As it stands now he thinks it will be sometime in July because the weather around here in mid-June sucks*.

More details as they become available...

* this opinion is not shared by your writer it is merely an opinion expressed by other Jake members. I happen to like mid-June but hey who the hell am I? Instead we'll do it in July, a very busy month for most people what with holidays, vacations etc. - but I'm not bitter...

3 CLUB TOURNAMENT:

Oh yes, some of the boys are entering a 3 club scramble type tournament to be held at a local course on April 23rd. Jake members who will be in attendance include Stubby, Rosco, Chag, Dancer, Heff & the Cool Chief Rocker.

The teams breakdown like this:
Team #1: Chag, Dancer, Heff & Chief
Team #2: Stubby, Rosco & 2 cats Rosco lives near (playa's from what we're told)

Team #1 will be the underdog which is how we like it. We will talk about how many strokes we will be getting at the event.

This will also be when the trophy will be given to Rosco. He will then get it to TP long about mid-May if possible.

Chief's Status

Cool Chief recently inquired about his "Jake Status" at the card game the other day. He is questioning the fact that TP is a "Full" (Partner) member while he remains a mere "Associate" member. He brings up a valid point insomuch as TP has only been around since '96 or '97 and he (Chief) has made it to all subsequent Jake Day's except our inaugural voyage in 1992.

In the absence of the official forms filled out (in triplicate), please consider this thread to openly discuss Chiefy's prospects for becoming a Full (Partner) member.

I'll have to check the by-laws but is it a 2/3rds majority from the Founders (6 to 3) to make this kind of decision or maybe it's just more than 1/2 (5 to 4)?

New Cat...(?)

Rumblings of a new cat joining us for Jake this year. Someone Stalkfleet works with. Not sure if there's any truth or validity to it but we'll see.

One thing I'd like is to have the attendants set at least a month before The Day so we can work out the teams for the scramble as well as tee time logistics etc. 2 man teams only. If we have an odd number of players the newest member/participant is out of the scramble (plays his own ball).

Chief, you may want to check in with Dee to see if he's up for his sophmore year.

It's hard out here for a pimp:

Well the Hold'em game was a success. It was an "all Jake" cast that included - Rosco, Stubby, Doc, Chag, Dancer, Heff & Cool Chief.

Here are the much anticipated results:
Round 1 - Dancer (2nd place Heff)
Round 2 - Doc (2nd place Chag)
Round 3 - Cool Chief (2nd place Chag & Doc)
Round 4 - Rosco (no 2nd place prize)

Great venue and a good time.

Wake up call - Jake is officially 3 months away.

Stockfleet needs to begin thinking about an itinerary...

Brother can you spare a Garcia Vega?

1994 Lt. Stalkfleet, Heff, Miscellaneous "Independent Contractor", Chag & Dancer

After our early evening beer chug we repaired to the outside for brandy & cigars only to find this fine gentleman just (um...) begging to be in this picture. Truth be told we were not going to let this moment slip away after all Jake is about getting out of your comfort zone and doing some things you don't normally do. It's all in good fun but looking back we should have invited him in for the chug-fest.

Less Than Jake:

{{{{{{{{........Submitted by Stubby Malone........}}}}}}}}

Gentlemen,
I was quite disturbed while reading this article in a Denmark newspaper last week. Is it possible that people are starting to see Chag’s blog? Are people jumping on the band wagon?

Who are these fools living off the Jake name for the sake of their stupid music group? It is clear to me that they are inferior but why would they be so blasphemous? What is the DOG reference? Let’s hope there is no rioting due to this shameful display.

Classic Jake photos:

Here are just a couple of great photos taken on Jake Day.

This is Jake 5 (1996 roughly) and features Heff at left Cool Chief, Rosco, Squirrel & Lt. Stockfleet. We were pretty well into our day at this point as you can see from the look on Squirrel's face.
This one was taken at Jake 12 (2003) and here we have Hub at the immediate left reviewing the bill for accuracy then there's Heff (on phone) Dancer (consoling) and finally Squirrel being quite animated if not amorous.

They don't get more classic than these folks.

Snuffy's Birthday

Big happy birthday wishes going out to Snuffy (a.k.a Dee). A picture will be posted with his bio which will be coming at some point. This is the first time he's been mentioned on the site (how appropriate being his birthday and all).

The Chapeau:

One place that's always been somewhat of a mandatory stop on Jake Day is an establishment that was once the "stomping grounds" of many a Jaker back in the day (that means college). This place has a name but we will refer to it here on the Jake blog as "The Chapeau". It's a dark and wonderful place small on space but certainly not lacking in character. It is a place filled with memories of yesterday, when times were simple and the biggest decision we had to make (after cutting class) was to play foosball or ping pong. As I said, it is usually a mandatory stop however last years Jake (14) we did neglect to make it there. This, at least in my opinion, was an oversight and one that our Jake 14 Coordinator (Cool Chief Rocker) should have rectified. Oh well, no use crying over spilled mudslides... I am not submitting a photo of this place as that would give away it's true identity.

Mmmm beer...

If you like beer (and I do), you might want to try this beer called Chimay. It's from Belgium and Doc told us about it. Me, Dancer and Lt. Stalkfleet had some of this when we were out at the cigar bar the night before Thanksgiving. These are the glasses they had that night and I'm kicking myself for not shoving one of them in my coat on the way out.

6 Jakers in SC

TOP ROW: Heff, N/A, Cool Chief, Stubby
BOTTOM ROW: Rosco (again wearing my jacket), Doc, Chag

Here we are in 2000 at a South Carolina golf trip. We only went down for a few days and played golf every day. 18 the first day, 36 the second day and 18 the third day. It's funny how you get all jazzed up for a trip like this and you plan on going out drinking after golf and raising some hell etc. Once you're down there and finish 36 you're like "yeah I think I'll have a couple of beers at the hotel and maybe play some cards". We were all in bed by 10:30pm. Not as young as we used to be. Squirrel also joined us on this trip but he left after the second day. The cat in between Heff & Cool Chief was not a Jaker so I had to eliminate him. The way he played golf, he was pretty much invisible anyways.

Heff's update on Squirrel:

The following is Heff's update on Squirrel's whereabouts. I've edited it to make it sufficiently ambiguous i.e. delete names of places/locations to throw off the obvious fans/stalkers/hangers-on of the Squirrel who frequent this site.

{{{{{{{{ Heff wrote }}}}}}}}
It has come to my attention that the Squirrel is headed for his old stomping grounds. He has already landed a job as a bartender at the place right downtown (I forget the name but it has 3 floors and its right across from the movie theater and next door to the Italian restaurant).
{{{{{{{{ End }}}}}}}}

Attaway Squirrel! Don't be surprised if you see some of us wandering into your establishment looking for a little hair-of-the-dog and some friendly conversation! I assume there will always be a VIP spot open at the bar for us Jakers. Congratulations but don't think this means you're out of Jake 15.
