Jakers on Yahoo:

What up y’all,
I’d like to announce that we will soon be launching another (and final) Jake site. This will be set up over at Yahoo Groups.

It’s a good spot to trash talk / send messages to each other. There is also an area to put up links to our other sites, photos, files and a calendar as well. This is not meant to take the place of the larger photo site which houses all the Jake photos in existence to date.

The thing I like about Yahoo is that most people already have a Yahoo screen name so you don’t have to create another one to message on the site. If you don’t have a screen name yet it’s easy to sign up and get one.

This will be a closed site so anyone not invited will not be able to access it.
You will be receiving an e-mail invite to join the group in the near future.

When you get that please sign up and throw a message on the board to let us know you got there.

After you’re a member it’s easy to get back to the group.

(Once you’ve signed in using your Yahoo screen name…) On the yahoo.com home page just click ‘Groups’ and you’ll see the jakeday group there.

If anyone has problems please let me know.
Peace out, yo.

6 Months:

We are at roughly 6 months till Jake boys and girls. Christmas is in the air and I feel like absolute shite. Not to bring the place down but I picked up a cold from one of my daughters and I'm a coughing, sneezing, weezing, mess of a person right now. Hey better to be sick a week before Christmas than on it
(I always say).

Last night I saw everyone's favorite stand up comedian / Jake Day incidental participant. He was headlining at a place close by so it was a quick visit (just stopped in off the highway with family in tow). He looks good so I'm sure Vegas agrees with him (hey, if you made your living in and around Vegas strip clubs, I venture, you'd look pretty good too).

I told him the Jake Boys wish him well. Good holidays etc., so forth and uh, so on.

Thanksgiving Observations - 2006:

Great time Wednesday night boys - Here's this year's list of 10:

10. The Chapeau's (recently remodeled) bathroom was in near impeccable condition as evidence from the following pictures.
9. Don't take any rides with Rosco after he buys alcohol.

8. If you find yourself at one of Hub's parties, don't be an asshole or you will pay dearly for your actions.

7. Jag tastes a lot like cough syrup (I know this isn't news to anyone but it's never been written down till now).

6. Hub enjoys his butter. Doc demands rolls but doesn't eat them. Rosco's still conviced everyone is gay but him. Heff was... Oh just see #4 from last year's list.

5. Cigars in the ally with Chag, Hub, Dancer & Stalkfleet.
4. Ice tea was Chief's drink of choice for the evening (& I don't mean the one from Long Island) but we'll give him some kudos for mustering up enough courage to get this close to a bottle of Jag (he didn't drink any of it but he did get within 18 inches of the bottle - so that's worth something).

3. Dancer does not subscribe to Linus' mantra: "Never discuss politics, religion or the Great Pumpkin".

2. Rosco follows (Chagnasty's) direction to win a crucial game of pool.

1. Stalkfleet sold his house so this will be his last Thanksgiving before he shuffles off to 'Waxalachi' after Christmas.

Jake makes an appearance at Dancer's wedding:

Chag, Hub, Doc, Dancer, Rosco, Cool Chief, Jake & Heff
It's not widely known that Jake was there to witness the Dancer tie the knot all those years ago. He took Stubby's place as he (Stubby) was causing his own trouble out on the left coast (no offense) at that time. This picture was taken after the boys rambled outside the reception to take a few hacks out on the 7th tee of the country club where the reception was.

Fun stuff - Heff looks like he's got a package going...

2 weeks from today:

As is tradition, the boys will be steppin' out the night before Thanksgiving. Meet at the Chapeau and dinner afterwards. It's one of the few times we get together off season. Last year was fun so we'll try to keep it going.

By the way Stubby, Dancer, Rosco, myself and the Heffer had a great time golfing last Saturday. Many thanks to Rosco for coodinating the day. The weather was sunny and in the low to mid 40's (we call that crisp where I come from).

Hope to see everyone out on the 22nd!

Fall Rules:

Some Jakers are getting together for the last golf hurrah of the season. Saturday November 4th 10:16am. Definite attendees are Rosco, Stubby, Chagnasty, Dancer & Heff. Potential attendees are Doc & Cool Chief Rocker.

We'll see what happens - get your parkas out for this one boys. I think I smell a match eh? hmmm?

The picture is me in 1997 when I golfed at the TPC Canyons. It was a nice place $230 for 18 holes. That's golf holes if anyone was confused by the price. Nice place though I hit my drive left if you can believe that. Nice (shirt) follow through.

Because I don't have much else to say...

... it's time for another Jake picture - This is from 2006. Tuck (Stalkfleet's guest) is at left, followed by (don't-call-me-beastie-boy) Heff , Chief on the phone (big surprise), Hub (proud papa) and Keith K (pretending to drink the last shot of Old Grand-Dad).

The picture was taken outside the hallowed Chapeau. I like this picture because the quality is not that great. Gives it that rustic “hey we’re not trying to be perfect, we're just a bunch of goofy cats gettin' through it” type of flair.

Incidental Participants:

This one's for all those we fondly refer to as 'incidental participants' of Jake Day. These are cats who for one reason or another people have invited to join in the festivities that are Jake.

Suffice to say that for each IP there is a story that goes with. For the most colorful story please see Hub's bio with regard to Jimmy PC.
(Can someone tell me why we didn't take any pictures of him?)

Here is as complete a list as we can give at this point (memories are a bit fuzzy as you might expect):
Pat S. (depicted above)
Kevin Fals
Dave Devereaux (depicted above)
John Good Guy
Keith Knox
"Jimmy PC"
"Carlo" (depicted above)
Jeff Oliver
Dave Russo (depicted above)
"Joe" the pick up driver (depicted above)
Dave Tucker (depicted above)
Joe Ashcan

The littlest Hub!

Congratulations go out to Hub and his wife on the birth of their 2nd daughter!

The lil'est Hub was born yesterday (8 lbs. 19 1/2 oz.).

Hub joins Dancer and myself in the '2 daughters club'. As we well know (and Hub will soon find out), there is a special place in heaven for the man with 2 daughters.

Here's hoping mother & baby are all fine.
Raising a glass for you bro!
