5 reasons why I wouldn't mind living in Toronto:

1. They like hockey, I like hockey.

2. I would be protected (militarily) unconditionally by the greatest country in the world because of the close proximity.

3. Great food, music, sports, beer & night life.

4. Far enough away from NYC & DC as to be out of the "danger-zone" in the event of another attack by those dirty-ass terrorist bastards.

5. Exchange rate, the monopoly looking money and those cool $1 & $2 coins.

Dancer's Birthday Wish:

Another belated birthday wish to the Dancer! (it was yesterday)

39 & a-feelin' fine eh bro?

Soon he'll be on his way up to Canada for his yearly family vacation. He's got lots of cousins up there plus it gives him a chance to review the junior hockey talent, stock up on Labatt's and bring his buddy's back a few boxes of Cubans (cigars not people).

One small step:

Saturday July 19th 1969:
A curious young boy reached atop a table where there was a scalding pot of coffee. He pulled the coffee down onto himself, consequently burning him in 2 places. His parents rushed him to the hospital where he was treated for his burns. One day later - the first man ever, walked on the Moon.

The boy was me; the man was... well Neil Armstrong of course.

Boating at sunset:

A few Jaker's (& a junior) went out on Cool Chief's boat the other night. Fantastic stuff. Nothing like the wind blowing through your gradually thinning hair with a beer in your hand and a stogie hanging from your mouth. For the record Heff was invited but he dusted off his old stand by "I've got my niece & sister's birthday party". See his bio for his list of recurring excuses.

Those in attendance were Cool Chief, Dancer, Chag & (the junior) JV.

Belated Birthday wishes for Lt:

It has come to my attention that I forgot to give Lt. Stalkfleet a little love on his birthday which was 7/9/06 (I had a busy weekend - sue me...)

Anyway, Happy Birthday Stalkfleet and congratulations on getting the best dressed award at this years Jake. Depicted at left, is the good Lieutenant poised to put down a kamikaze shot at Jake 15. Sorry these wishes are late bro, but my guess is you're still too groggy from your birthday hangover to notice.

Saw King Kong last night with the Chag-stress. It was entertaining but I could have done without the Wild Savages/Jurassic Park/Arachnophobia/Fear Factor parts. Other than that the big gorilla and the blonde were cool.

Jake 15 Thoughts by Chagnasty:

Awfully light on the traffic around here of late - very disappointing. You'd think that if you created a website specifically for and about us we'd be on it more than this... Whatever, I'll take advantage of the lull by offering a few thoughts on Jake Day #15 - for what they're worth.

First Congratulations to Keith K. & Dee for winning this years scramble. They tore up the course. We've got some ideas on how to level the playing field for us "common-ers" next year. One idea Heff came up with is the "give shots or take shots" concept, meaning the single handicappers either give the field a stroke(s) or they take an alcoholic shot(s) before/during the round. Another would be to have them play alone. We've got plenty time to kick this around so stay tuned.

LOW-LIGHTS:
Tuck, TP, Dee, JV, Hub, Squirrel - no show for breakfast. This shows a blatant disregard for Jake and all he stands for and will not be tolerated at future Jakes.

A big question that is swirling around is, should TP be demoted to Associate status after missing breakfast, golf and 2 prime drinking hours at the Chapeau?

Stubby's ailment forcing him to play only 9 holes and exit the Chapeau early.

Unnecessary squabbles/hashing out old scores etc. Squirrel & Keith K.

HIGH-LIGHTS:
Squirrel's ordering up multiple shots. At the time it seemed like he was a mad man way out of control but in retrospect it was the right call. We were all feeling it by 6pm and had no idea what time it was.

BT Pub was a good choice. Pool tables kept us occupied while aforementioned squabbles took place.

Tuck (new Cat) had an impressive inaugural year and showed that he's up for anything the Jakers had to offer.

Stalkfleet - best dressed (took a page from Stubby's handbook).

All in all it was an above average Jake and one we can look back on with pride.

Independence Declared:

The original Declaration is now exhibited in the Rotunda for the Charters of Freedom in Washington, DC. It has faded badly, largely because of poor preservation techniques during the 19th century. The document measures 29-3/4 inches by 24-1/2 inches.
