JAKE #18 IN THE BOOKS

IN THE DAYS AND WEEKS TO FOLLOW WE WILL RE-CAP AND EVALUATE THE DAYS ACTIVITIES. HOPE EVERYONE HAD A GREAT TIME - CHECK BACK EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE FOR UPDATES.

Welcome Jake Enthusiasts:

At the time of this writing Jake Day #18 is a paltry 3 days away. As is now tradition, Jake Day is and will forever be the closest Friday to the summer solstice. This year that falls on Friday June 19th.

Navigating the site is easy - simply check out the right hand column for answers to the most basic of questions such as:

What the frigg is Jake Day?

Who the eff is Jake anyways?

etc.

A little further down the column you'll find Biographies of the cats who attend Jake Day every year. We've been doing this for 18 years and I cannot imagine a circumstance where it would ever come to an end (plagues, locusts, famines, etc. notwithstanding).

It weighs 4.85 lbs... except when you're lifting it:

To follow please find some additional information you might find helpful to make your Jake Day that much more pleasant.

If you think you would like to take a shower after the activities we will have 2 hotel rooms to do so. You will need to bring a towel and any other toiletries that you might find helpful to get off whatever crizzap you get on you.

Finances:

Everyone owes Heff $10 (hotel/showers)

Everyone owes Dancer $10 (lunch etc.)

Everyone owes Me $5 (beers/soft drinks/ice/misc.)

Best to get all the who owes who done early if possible - maybe at breakfast would be good.

The parking garage closest to the Aquarium will be the best lot to be in for the day. It's the most centrally located to where we will be.

The Jake Trophy will be presented at (or after) dinner to the ultimate winning (2 person) team who has accumulated the most "Jake Points" throughout the day.

Dinner will be at The Crab and we unfortunately do not have 'trade'. We will be acknowledging a moment of silence for "Jimmy PC" who graced us with his presence and made a damned fool of himself on that very spot 8 years ago.

Vomit Update 6/11/09:

Heff, after playing a stellar 9 holes of golf in our Wednesday night golf league, ordered up a turkey club at the 19th hole. After his dinner and the requisite 3 or 4 libations he headed home to bed after which he proceeded to hurl his guts out early this morning.

Did I mention he also had a pulled pork sandwich at Sniper's house after we left the course?

This leads me to my question...
What made Heff place a call to Earl on the big white telephone'?

Was it:
A. The Turkey Club Sandwich
B. The Pulled Pork Sandwich
C. The way he played golf
D. The smell from his hockey equipment emanating from his cellar which happens to be below his bedroom

Chief's Dad:

I'm very sad to announce Chief's Dad passed away early this morning after a long and (I can only imagine) difficult battle with lung cancer. I'm sure I can speak for everyone who frequents this site when I say our hearts go out to Chief and his young family.

Take care of yourself and everyone around you Chief we're all here if you need us.
